Udupi, Oct 28: A parade of accused in the ganja selling and transportation cases was held at the Chandu Maidan here on Wednesday, October 28.
SP N Vishnuvardhan, ASP Kumarachandra, police sub-divisional officer T R Jaishankar, DySP of armed reserve force Raghavendra, Udupi CI Manjunatha and ASIs of other police stations of the districts were present in the parade.
The accused in the parade included two from Byndoor police station limits, 18 from Kundapur police station limits, four from Kundapur rural police station limits, two from Kota police station limits, 12 from Udupi city police station limits, five from Malpe police station limits, 16 from Manipal police station limits, two from CEN police station limits, two from Karkala police station limits, five from Padubidri police station limits, three from Kaup police station limits and one from Hiriyadka police station limits.
Addressing the accused, SP Vishnuvardhan asked them to lead a good life and do not take part in anti-social activities like drug peddling, which harm a healthy society. He also warned them of severe action in case the accused continue the same old habits. At the same time, the SP also said that if they give information about the drug network and people involved, the same will be kept confidential.
