Bengaluru, Oct 18: In a shocking incident, a man went on a rampage stabbing several people in broad daylight on Sunday, October 18, killiing one and injuring five.
The accused has been identified as Ganesh, a resident of Bakshi Garden in the city.
He was reportedly in weekend holiday mood and had told his family members that he would bring mutton. He went to the mutton shop on Mysuru Road and suddenly escaped after picking up a knife from the shop.
Ganesh allegedly stabbed a youth called Mari on his chest near Binny Mill. Mari died on the spot due to heavy bleeding. Thereafter, Ganesh proceeded to stab five others, two of whom have been identified as Velayudhan and Suresh. He ran for nearly 1.5 km from Balemandi creating ruckus, sources said.
Police who got information from public about the ruckus rushed to the spot and took him to the police station. DCP Sanjeeva Patil also visited the spot and conducted inspection.
A case in this regard has been registered in Cottonpet police station of the city.
Ganesh is being interrogated by the police. Ganesh's family members have reportedly said that he suffers from psychological issues. Police are conducting investigation from all angles.
