Mumbai, Apr 19: Aditi Dhumatkar of suburban Khar Gymkhana, emerged the women’s individual champion with an impressive tally of six records, in the 27th Otters open swimming championship that concluded at the Otters Club, Bandra, here on Sunday April 18.
 

Aditi, who set two records on the opening day of the two-day meet, added four more including erasing two 13-year-old marks, before missing out on the women’s 100-metre- freestyle record by a whisker.
 
‘Had I got that, it would have been great,’ said Aditi, who had reason to be delighted with her overall performance.  There was stiff competition, but I was focused and consistent.’
 
Aditi was the toast of the day that saw eight records sink including two by her club mate and the other swimming sensation Rujuta Bhatt. While the girls held centre stage, Apurva Sharma of Mulund Swimming Pool swept four gold in the men’s category that earned him a Rs 10,000 scholarship in memory of former swimming great and founder of the Otters Club, Lalu Bajaj for winning gold in the dash-for-cash men’s 100-metre-freestyle.
 
Avantika Chavan and Neha Prasad of Khar Gymkhana, Vedant Rao and Sachet Engineer of Otters Club won two golds each.
