Dubai, Oct 8: International visitors staying in and departing from Ras Al Khaimah will be getting free Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test after Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) and RAK Hospital announced a partnership to provide free test.

A statement issued on Wednesday, October 7 stated that the free PCR test can be availed either at RAK Hospital or RAK Medical Centre in Al Hamra Mall.

This partnership marks the first ever such global free PCR testing for international guests and visitors. Earlier this year, Ras Al Khaimah had become the first city in the world to be certified safe by Bureau Veritas and received safe travel stamp from World Travel and Toursim Council (WTTC) due to extensive hygiene and security measures at its hotels and tourist destination.

Raki Philips, CEO of RAKTDA said, "It is with great pleasure that we announce the complementary test for international visitors, as this effort will put in place an added element of safety - both for the guests staying within our properties, as well as our hospitality providers and their staff. As travel corridors begin to open up, we will continue to incorporate and implement global best practices into our efforts to safeguard against the spread of the pandemic. This initiative comes at a perfect time as we move towards the cooler months of the year into the 'winter Sun' season, encouraging all visitors to experience all that the destinations has to offer, from the striking Jebal Jais mountain peak, pristine beaches to cultural and archaeological explorations."
