Panaji, Oct 7: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Monday, October 5 launched 'Dishtavo' - an online channel to avail the students of higher education over 20,000 recorded lectures. Sawant said that this initiative is first of its kind to create such an infrastructure for higher education.
However, it reports show that about 74 percent of the students in Goa experience poor internet speed which acts as a barrier to access online teaching content.
To meet the issue of internet, the chief minister said that the directorate of higher education (DHE) has planned to create e-mitras. The idea is to pair two students with one good network to keep connectivity and keep updated with the pace of learning.
Sawant said that 'Dishtavo' would enable students access the teaching videos 24/7 as per their convenience.
"No other state has taken such an initiative. Goa is the first place to provide online training to its teachers. Dishtavo is permanent infrastructure created for students," Sawant said.
