Bangalore, Apr 17: As many as 25 new fire stations will come across the State by the end of the year, Home Minister V S Acharya said on Friday.
Speaking to reporters in Bangalore, Acharya said the State government will spend Rs 200 crore this year for construction of residential and non-residential blocks under its upgradation programme for police and fire departments.
Ten this year
Ten new fire stations will be ready by June end and the remaining 15 will come up by the end of the year, he said. He expressed confidence that the Gram Panchayat polls will pass off peacefully in naxal-affected areas of the state.
