Growing trees like drumstick, papaya, jackfruit, mango, chikoo, guava, lemon and expecting them to yield fruits may take years if they are planted from seeds. Please encourage grafting technique so that the yielding takes place within a couple years.

Secondly, encourage short term crops like Lady's Finger, Brinjal, Green Chili, Cucumber, Tomato, Indiain Spinach (Balale), Gerkins (Manoli) or Methi, Palak, Amaranthus (Harive Soppu) such seasonal varieties will grow twice a year so that immediate need of vegetables will be met locally. These can be grown around the trees of long term yielding.

Interested people can borrow seeds from those who are already growing. Government initiative can be minimum, if people are enthusiastic.

People had to pay bribe just for their flood compensation claim form to be accepted forget about actually getting any compensation. I don't know how many schemes they'll cook up to get funds instead of just maintaining roads and providing water and electricity.
