Bengaluru, Oct 5: Congress leader DK Shivakumar's premises in Karnataka, Mumbai and other places were raided by CBI on Monday in connection with an alleged corruption case.
The alleged corruption case was registered by the CBI based on the inputs shared by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to the tax evasion proceedings by the Income Tax Department, officials said.
As per reports, during the money laundering probe, the Enforcement Directorate had forwarded some of their findings to the CBI last year.
It is said that the raids are being carried out at 14 locations.
Reacting to this Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala in a tweet said, “The insidious game of intimidation and machinations of Modi-Yeddyurappa duo being executed by a puppet CBI by raiding DK Shivakumar won’t deter us. CBI should be unearthing the layers of corruption in Yediyurappa Government.”
“Let Modi and Yediyurappa Government and BJP’s frontal organizations i.e CBI-ED-Income Tax know that Congress workers and leaders will not be cowed down nor bow down before such devious attempts. Our resolve to fight for people and expose BJP’s maladministration only becomes stronger,” the Congress General Secretary said in another tweet.
