Puttur, Oct 3: "Congress party is behaving like fish out of the water and opposing the union government in every matter," said union minister for fertilizer D V Sadananda Gowda.
Speaking to the media in Puttur, Gowda further said, "Opposition parties are opposing the farm bill that the union government has implemented. Farmers of the country are aware that there is politics behind the opposing of the bill by opposition parties. Before bringing the farmer bill, the policy commission has discussed the matter with CMs of all states. As per the go-ahead given by the chief ministers, the act is kept in front of the public. Later it was discussed in both the houses and implemented.
"Opposition parties are with the middlemen and thereby cheating the farmers. The Union government has formed all facilities to make the farmers of the country self-reliant. The Union government has already implemented article 370, Ram Janmbhoomi and Triple Talaq which were promised in their manifesto. All actions are taken to implement the remaining promise of uniform civil code. The union government has taken care that the farmers of the country do not face any shortage of fertilizer even during the Covid pandemic.
"During Covid time also we have received tremendous demand for fertilizer. All the demands are met. Four large scale fertilizer factories which were closed due to coronavirus pandemic are started again in order to achieve self-reliance. 70% of the fertilizer requirement of the country is being produced in India itself.
"The stockholders of fertilizer in the country tried to create artificial scarcity. But this was detected immediately. The permit of 148 illegal stockholders of fertilizer is cancelled in Karnataka. Even now the list of 20 stockholders, who keep huge stocks of fertilizer in the state, is made. The union government has done all the work to stop illegal activities,” he said.
