Kasargod, Sep 30: As coronavirus cases are on the rise, the district administration has decided to tighten restrictions.
Only 50 people are permitted during weddings and a maximum of 20 people are permitted during funerals. The limit of 20 people applies to programmes that follow the funerals.
Employees in shops should wear masks and gloves. Shops violating the guidelines will be ordered to close for a week and legal action will be taken against them. A special team and police personnel have been deployed to keep an eye over violators.
Sports competitions are permitted. But the number of spectators and the sports persons in them should not exceed 20. The permission will be granted only if they follow the guidelines. It is decided to increase the staff on the Talapady checkpost. Staff of the regional transport office, fire brigade, revenue and forest department will be deployed for this reason.
“Travellers are requested to support the 'bus on demand' scheme by KSRTC for safe travel,” said the deputy commissioner in a video conference meeting of corona advisory committee on Wednesday.
“District hospital will function as Covid hospital from October 1. Preparations will be made to commence Tata Covid Hospital. The necessary road works, electricity connection and drinking water facilities have been completed,” said the DC.
