Kadaba, Sep 23: A villager from Paltady near here has invented a scooter tipper that is tiny enough to move between trees in plantations.
Purushotham (23) has transformed a Yamaha scooter into a scooter tipper. It is very useful for carrying sand and other things into and out of the plantation, loading areca nut etc. Bigger vehicles find it hard to navigate in small gaps between plants, trees and other vegetation whereas this scooter tipper does the job of a mini tipper truck, he explains.
Purushotham is the son of Babu Shetty and Yamuna couple from Bambila in Paltady village. He has invented certain things even in the past. Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade himself has appreciated the invention. MLA Angara too has praised him. Purushotham, a student of K S Gowda ITI at Nintikal is currently doing project work at Ujjre SDM Engineering College. He has modified the 130cc engine scooter by fixing several pieces of equipment. Gearbox has been fixed to help the tipper to move in the desired direction freely. A three-feet wide goods compartment has been created which Purushotham says can carry two quintals of weight.
