Puttur, Apr 9: Speaking at the quarterly Karnataka Development Programme meeting held at the auditorium of the local taluk panchayat on Thursday April 8, and after reviewing the progress, local MLA, Mallika Prasad, felt that the achieving of the development of the constituency will not pose any problem if the officials and engineers work sincerely.
Noting that the people have been facing drinking water problems because of the lack of coordination between the officials of Mescom and the engineering department, she asked the officials to ensure that such discrepancies do not arise henceforth.
Objecting to the favourable report presented by the child development department relating to the sale of a child at Kabaka in the past, she questioned the official concerned, Gangadhar, as to whether selling of a child was a noble gesture. When Gangadhar tried to defend the Anganwadi worker, who is facing the allegation of facilitating the sale, the MLA said she would write to the deputy director of the child development department on the wrongdoings of the concerned.
Taluk panchayat president, Savitri Shivaram, executive officer, Y Shivaramaiah, vice president, Radhakrishna Borkar, standing committee chairperson, Pulasya Rai, tahsildar, Dase Gowda etc., were present.
