New Delhi, April 7 (IANS) Airtel digital TV, the direct-to-home service provider from India's top telecom company Bharti Airtel, Wednesday launched a recorder which allows customers to record TV shows from anywhere in the world using mobile phones.
The digital TV recorder, which is an enhanced set-top box capable of recording live television anytime and anywhere, will be available for Rs.6,990 to new customers and at Rs.5,990 to existing ones.
The company claims it to be a first of its kind example of convergence between the mobile and TV screen.
"This product would be a lifestyle enabler that will significantly change TV viewing trends in India. It is also strategic as it brings together the TV screen and the mobile screen," said Ajai Puri, director and chief executive, DTH, Bharti Airtel.
The recorder also offers customers the advantage of a high definition multi-media interface port for video output which means customers with the latest LCD TVs can enjoy the highest picture quality.
