Bangalore, Apr 7: State Chief Minister (CM), B S Yeddyurappa, has informed that milk prices will be revised upwards within the next two days, for encouraging the dairy farmers and for augmenting milk production in the state.
“We are faced with the compulsion to revise the milk prices because of the dwindling production of milk in the state. We want to encourage the dairy farmers to increase milk production by offering remunerative prices for the milk they produce. In addition to this, the dairy farmers will be provided loans up to Rs 50,000 at six percent interest per annum, for buying bullocks, shebuffalos, sheep etc.,” he explained.
He also hinted that the government will be taking some important decisions on rural development and irrigation facilities within the next few days. Another ambitious programme of the government is to provide sites and houses to about two lac people within the next one year, he added.
About the cabinet reshuffle and appointment to boards and corporations, the CM said that he is not in a hurry in these issues. “A decision will be taken at an appropriate time after holding discussions with the party leaders,” he clarified.
