Illicit Liquor Activities under Goonda Act Soon: Renukacharya

Gulbarga, Apr 4: State government will soon issue an order to include the offence of manufacturing and selling illicit liquor under the Goonda Act, said excise minister Renukacharya here on Saturday Apr 3.

Addressing a press conference, Renukacharya said that the act of arrests over hooch and other illicit liquor under the Goonda Act will discourage illegal brewing activities. Such activities if proved will also attract withdrawal of BPL cards and Ashraya houses, he said.

Minister said that the excise department has also held gram sabhas in various places to educate people against the consumption of hooch.

    This goonda act will punish only the poor who will have their own liquor at home though not for sale.The Big fish will always escape even though so much labeled illicit liquor is sold in Karnataka.
    First they should withdraw BPL cards given to people who spend whole day at illegal liquor shops. People have become lazy to work and earn on their own. Many working class are just depend on their wife and children who will wrap beedies and make a living because rice and other grains are available very cheap under BPL cards.
    There is a lot labor shortage and all construction sites in Mangalore are filled with workers from other states where as many local workers are not doing any job.

    Renukacharya Good Move..

    He is chief rebellion of Yeddi Govt. Anything he proposes has to be implemented otherwise again they will bring in RESORT-CULTURE.
