The deceased are Midlaj (55) from Thiruvananthapuram, his wife, Sajida (33) from Povval Mastikundu, Kasargod, and son, Fahad (13).
All the bodies were found from inside their house. Preliminary assessment of the police is that they would have consumed poison. Midlaj used to work as a tailor.
The door of their home was not opened till noon. Surprised, the neighbours peeped into the window and realised what had happened. After they were informed, police personnel from Vidyanagar station here reached the spot and entered the house by breaking the door open. A glass which perhaps was used for consuming poisonous substance, was found near the bodies.
The police, who conducted inquest, dispatched the bodies to the general hospital here for plostmortem. It is suspected that the family members would have taken this decision on account of financial crisis.
