Mangaluru: Forest squad arrest six men for trade of blackbuck skin

Mangaluru, Sep 7: Officers of the forest trafficking squad after receiving a tip-off went to Yadigiri and busted a huge network involved in the sale of the skin of blackbuck.

The officers seized 20 skins of blackbucks, two heads of the concerned animal, one live young female blackbuck, three bikes used for the business. The squad also arrested six people in this connection.

Mangaluru forest squad sub-inspector Purushotham, head constable Jagannath, staff Praveen J, Udaya Kumar, Mahesh, Shivananda and Jagadeesh took part in the operation.

    India has banned the trade of wild animals, plants and their derivatives is prohibited under wildlife (Protection) act 1972.... Violation of this law attract 3 years Rigorous Imprisonment !!! Hope and pray these criminals, are not bailed out by influential, powerful lobbyist, under the guise of human rights activism !!!
