Bengaluru, Sep 6: It has come to light during the CCB police investigation that sons of influential political leaders and some entrepreneurs are also involved in the Sandalwood drug case. Actress Ragini has already been arrested in this connection.
It is learnt that the CCB police have unearthed the involvement of influential people in the drug case of Sandalwood during the inquiry of actress Ragini, her close aide Ravishankar and Rahul Tonshy, friend of actress of Sanjana Galrani.

Assistant police commissioner of CCB Gautam Kumar has registered a case in the Cottonpet police station under NDPS act against 12 people including actress Ragini and Aditya Alva, son of former minister late Jeevaraj Alva. If the accused are proven guilty, they will face a minimum prison sentence of 10 to 20 years. The customer or client, who smokes ganja will face the possibility of three years of sentence. If the drugs confiscated are small in quantity then one year sentence and Rs 1,000 fine will be slapped on such a person.
A case has been registered under sections 21, 21 (C), 27 (A), 27 (B), 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and section 120 (B) of IPC against Shivaprakash, Ragini, Veeren Khanna, Prashant Renka, Vaibhav Jain, Aditya Alva, Loom Pepper Samba of African origin, Prashanth Raju, Ashwin, Abhiswamy, Rahul Tonshy and Vinay who are accused from number one to 12 respectively in the case.
Shivaprakash, Ragini, Veeren Khanna and Rahul Tonshi have been arrested and the rest are absconding. First accused Shivaprakash is a close aide of actress Ragini. Third accused Veeren Khanna used to conduct huge rave parties in Karnataka, Delhi, Mumbai and Goa. All the accused including Ragini, Shivaprakash, Ravishankar and Rahul used to take part in these parties. They used to supply drugs to their friends and clients in the party. Son of late former minister Jeevaraj Alva is also a drug peddler, according to sources in the police department.
Ragini has been kept in the women relief center near Nimhans. She is not cooperating with the inquiring officers citing lack of sleep and back pain. So she was not interrogated on Saturday. If she continues her behavior for next two days, then she will produced in court and taken into police custody as per CCB police sources.
Meanwhile, Rohini Dwivedi, mother of Ragini said that the accusation made on her daughter are baseless and she is being framed in the case. Rohini had come to the CCB office to see Ragini. Rohini further said, "I will submit all sorts of documents. My daughter will be left scot free soon." But the police did not allow family members to meet actress Ragini.
It is said that Ragini has pleaded guilty during the preliminary investigation. She is saying that she has consumed MDMM tablets that were given to her by her friend Ravishankar and not sold drugs or instigated anyone. But the sources informed that Ragini has confessed to have attended the rave parties organized by Ravishankar and Khanna.
Aditya Alva, son of former minister the late Jeevaraj Alva, is the sixth accused in the case. He is the brother-in-law of bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi. Vivek also used to take part in the parties organized by Aditya Alva. Vivek Oberoi had taken part in one such party organized in Sri Lanka. It is said that Vivek Oberoi is also likely to be questioned in connection with this case. House of Aditya Alva at Sadashivnagar in the city is vacant now. Police are on manhunt to nab him.
In the complaint filed by Gautam, assistant police commissioner of CCB, it is said that All the accused from number one to 12 were organizing parties at various places of the city and used to supply drugs through drug peddlers to actor, actresses, DJs, techies and other eminent personalities of society. In this way they used to illegally amass lot of wealth.
