Puttur, Mar 30: A special court has been set up to hear cases against the ‘woman-eater’ Mohan Kumar, who killed about 20 women in public places, without even getting noticed.
As of now, Mohan faces cases relating to the killing 19 women, 15 of them from Karnataka, by feeding cyanide tablets to them after spending a night with them, and thereafter, taking with him their valuables and cash. It is learnt, that this special court, which will function as part of the regular court, has been exclusively formed to facilitate hearing of the cases against Mohan Kumar together.
The criminal investigation department, which has been entrusted with the task of investigating Mohan’s cases, has already filed charge sheets relating to 11 cases. The officials of the department have also been conducting a detailed study of the cases relating to the missing girls, filed in police stations located in Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu and Kasargod districts between 2003 and 2009.
