Mangaluru, Sep 2: The people are fed up with the restrictions imposed on travel from Kerala to Dakshina Kannada (DK) district by the Kerala government and Kasargod district administration. The district core committee is scheduled to meet on Wednesday. It is said that in all likelihood, all travel restrictions between these two districts might be withdrawn.
BJP Manjeshwar Mandal Committee had again held protest on Tuesday demanding to allow free travel. During the discussions, the police and revenue officials indicated that travel might be freed at the core committee meeting on Wednesday.
BJP district president Srikanth, who addressed the protesters, said that the people are suffering because of the Kerala government's politics of conspiracy and arrogance of the district administration. He warned that if free travel is blocked, the people may have to take law into their hands.
BJP Manjeshwar Mandal Committee president Manikantha Rai presided. Leaders like Kolaru Satishchandra Bhadary, Naveenraj, and V Balakrishna Shetty led the protesters.
The Kerala buses which only travelled till Manjeshwar from Kasargod till now, would now be allowed to be extended till Talapady on the district border as per permission given by Kasargod district administration, it is learnt.
