Bengaluru, Sep 1: A petition filed in the state high court has questioned the proposal to offer ministerial berths to certain people. However, the high court, which took up the petition for consideration, refused to order an interim stay against giving ministerial positions to the persons in question.

The petitioner wants that ruling party MLCs, H Vishwanath, MTB Nagaraj and R Shankar, should not be made ministers. The high court has caused the issuance of notices to these three MLCs.

An advocate from the city, A S Harish, has filed this petition. It came before a division bench of the state high court presided over by Chief Justice A S Oka on Monday, August 31.

The court ordered issuance notices also to the state chief secretary, governor's secretariat, the chief minister and law department in addition to the three MLCs named above, all of whom have been named as defendants by the petitioner.
