Bengaluru, Sep 1: Former Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, alleged that money from the drug mafia had been utilised to cause the downfall of the coalition government headed by him.
Speaking to media persons on Monday August 31, he indirectly accused the BJP of liberally putting to use money from the drug mafia, cricket betting cartel and dance bars for causing his government to crash.
"When I was the chief minister, I had initiated tough measures against the drugs mafia. Some among them had even fled to Sri Lanka, fearing action," he claimed. He said that will power is the ingredient needed to regulate the drug mafia. He demanded strict action against everyone involved with drugs, irrespective of the positions they hold.
Kumaraswamy also opined that the media should not discuss the issue of drugs in the open as too much media glare might create undue influence in their minds.
