Bengaluru, Aug 25: Karnataka chief minister (CM), B S Yediyurappa, plans to expand the ministry before the commencement of the next legislative session. Amidst demand for ministry reorganization too by dropping inactive ministers, the CM is awaiting to meet home minister, Amit Shah, who is undergoing treatment.

Even though BJP national president, J P Nadda, can take a decision, Amit Shah, who knows the political situation in Karnataka better, is in a better position to advise him, Yediyurappa feels. If the top leadership so insists, Yediyurappa is also ready for the ministry reorganization.

Amit Shah, who is currently recuperating in All India Institute of Medical Sciences from where he has been functioning, may be available to the CM for consultation only after he is discharged. If his discharge gets delayed, there is a possibility of Yediyurappa holding telephonic discussions with him, it is said.

As of now, six seats are vacant in the ministry. The CM has showed inclination to accommodate MTB Nagaraj and R Shankar, who had sacrificed their ministerial positions in the erstwhile government, to support the BJP. He also plans to offer a ministry to H Vishwanath if possible. He has to set aside two posts for candidates from Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Maski assembly constituencies.

Yediyurappa has already sought time to meet Amit Shah. Once he gets clearance, he might go to Delhi by special flight, it is said.

    State governments become just a tool of the governing party at the Centre by remote control it can rule and install its chosen CM and ministers. It is as good as central rule in a country which has conferred powers in the states by the constitution.
