Kasargod: 35-year-old man drowns in rivulet while taking bath

Kasargod, Aug 25: A Mangaluru resident drowned in a rivulet while taking bath. The deceased was Vinod (35), who was residing in Yekkkur.

The incident took place on Sunday evening, August 23. Vinod had got down for a bath in a rivulet near Madhoor bridge after working at Madhoor. Eye-witnesses who saw him drowning informed the police department and fire service department. Though they arrived and searched for him in the lake, they could not find him in the water. Vinod’s mortal remains were found beside the rivulet after two days on Tuesday August 25.

Police personnel have taken into custody the bike in which he had arrived and parked on the bridge.

Vinod was unmarried and was staying in the house of his relatives at Kolya, Madhoor. His mortal remains are kept at Kasargod general hospital mortuary. A post-mortem will be conducted after receiving the deceased’s Covid test report.

    Dear Kasargodians, pls do not take bath in tanks / lakes / rivers / rivulets / sea etc.etc. this is peak rainy season and it has rained pretty well this season, filling all water bodies...... tired of death news...

    Such mistakes could be done at before the age of 6 years, Generally parents keep a eye on the child (you may survive or not.....if you survive, you will not make that mistake again)....111///

    --- difficult to figure out why a person would take bath in rivulet, if he has his living house nearby...

    Hindu texts advises every twice born to take bath in river or pond or lake or at least tanks once a fortnight. But those customs have almost evaporated now. I don't even take bath like that, even once a year.
