Mangalore, Mar 24: It is learnt that the direct flights of Air India from the city to New Delhi, which will commence from Sunday March 28 onwards, will be operated on all days of the week except Saturdays.
“Initially, 72-seater Bombardier airplanes will be flown on this route. As this is a light aircraft, there will not be a separate business class. Depending upon the response of the customers, changing over to a larger aircraft or adding new flights will be considered,” said local station manager of Air India, Chellam Prasad.
The flight, IC-7613, will operate on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. IC-7611 will fly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The flight, IC-7613 will leave Delhi at 5.15 am and reach here at 8.35 am. It will fly back to Delhi at 9.05 and reach Delhi at 1.15 pm. IC 7611 will leave Delhi at 6.25 am and reach the city at 10.55 am. It will start its return journey at 11.25 am and reach Delhi at 2.10 pm. The airfare on this sector is Rs 4,800.
It is learnt that for the first flight on Sunday, already 45 seats have been booked.
