Udupi, Mar 24: State home and religious endowment minister Dr V S Acharya handed over the cheque of Rs 25 lac, which was released by state administration towards the cost of renovation at Sri Vishwanath temple, Yellur, near here on Monday March 22.
The cheque was handed over by Dr Acharya, to honour the assurance of CM B S Yeddyurappa during his visit to Yellur temple, in 2009 that he would sanction state funds towards its renovation works. Meanwhile, the renovation of temple was completed in 2009 and also Brahmakalashotrav was also held at the renovated temple.
Minister Dr Acharya handed over the cheque to Yellurguttu Prafulla Shetty, managing trustee of Sri Vishwanath Temple, Yellur, during a simple ceremony held at temple premises, on Monday.
Addressing the media persons, Prafulla Shetty said that the funds will be utilized for constructing auditorium at the temple, here.
