Bantwal, Aug 21: Bantwal police have registered a case against two men and others for thrashing a boy on suspicion of mobile theft. The incident took place on Friday morning at Paraneeru near Kalladka.
The complaint was submitted by Udaya, a resident of Balthila. He mentioned that Srinivas resident of Veerakamba and Prashanth resident of Kalladka and few others threatened and attacked him with sticks. The video of the lynching has also gone viral.
The complaint further mentioned that attackers came in a rickshaw and attacked the victim. The men were also accused of using abusive words. Old enmity is said to be the motive behind the attack. Udaya also said to have tried to scream and call for help.
The police have registered a case under Section 143, 147, 148, 341, 504, 323, 506 and 149.
On conducting an investigation, it was also found that one of the attackers is a criminal with theft cases registered against him.
