Madikeri: Buried body of Tala Kaveri chief priest recovered

Madikeri, Aug 12: The body of T S Narayan Achar, chief priest of Tala Kaveri temple in Kodagu district, who was buried alive along with family when the Gajagiri hillock, a part of Brahmagiri hills, came crashing down, was found six days after the tragedy.

The mortal remains of Achar were found at Nagateertha, two km away from his house. The body of Achar's younger brother, Anandateertha Swamiji, had been found on the first day of the operation on Saturday.

District in-charge minister V Somanna, MP Pratap Simha, district deputy commissioner Anise Kanmani Joy, superintendent of police Kshama Mishra and others were present.

Achar's body was cremated at Battikadu Estate in the presence of his two daughters on Tuesday night. The body of Anandateeertha Swamiji, who was celibate and had embraced asceticism, was buried.
