Mangaluru, Aug 11: Puttur station police inspector, assistant sub inspector and staff conducted raid at Vatrakodi, Kedila village on Tuesday August 11 and seized 175 kg ganja worth Rs 17,50,000 being transported in a Karnataka registered pickup vehicle and Kerala registered car. The police confiscated the ganja, pickup vehicle worth Rs three lac and car worth about Rs four lac in the raid. The total value of the items seized was Rs 24,50,000.
The police personnel have arrested Ibrahim alias Arshad alias Acchu (26), resident of Manjeshwar, Kasargod, Kerala; Mohammed Shafik (31), resident of Manjeshwar, Kasargod, Kerala and Khalander Shafi (26), resident of Bantwal in this connection.
A case under section 8(C) r/w 20(b) (ii) C NDPS Act is registered at Puttur police station against the accused.
Among them, Ibrahim has seven cases at Manjeshwar police station, two cases at Kumble police station; Khalander Shafi has two cases of ganja peddling and one case of attempted murder at Vittal police station and one case of ganja peddling pending at Kavoor police station.
