Mangalore, Mar 17: Sri Rama Nama Tharaka Manthra Japa Yajna will be held on March 20th and 21st in Kalladka ahead of the grand Sri Rama Bhajana Mandir which is going to be built in Kalladka at an estimated cost of about Rs 5 crores. Dr Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari will preside over the religious assembly on March 21st and Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yadyurappa will be the guest of honour on the occasion.
Addressing a press conference in the city Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, chief of the Yajna Committee pointed out that the main aim of this Yajna is to unite the Hindu society at a time when efforts are being made to divide it. It is an effort to promote nationalism and safeguard Indian tradition, culture and way of life.
Today Hindu way of life has come to be accepted in countries like USA. Only Hindus believe in rebirth and this is now slowly being accepted elsewhere. Dharma is nothing but a way of life which is wrongly given the name of religion in our country Dr Prabhakar stated. He also said that the Sudharma Rathyathra which began on March 5 from Kalladka has traversed through different parts of the district and will be back in Kalladka on 20th before the commencement of the Yajna.
He said Kalladka has been chosen for this Yajna as it has been the epicenter of many events that had bearing on the national events of the country.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will be the President of the Yajna.
The “Hore Kanike” programme was first inaugurated at the same venue by Sri Dharmapapalmath Swamiji of Adi Chunchanagiri. District-in-charge Minister Krishna Palemar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Yogish Bhat, former minister Nagaraj Shetty, former MLA Padmanabha Kottary were present at the press conference.
