Bengaluru, Aug 10: Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa, who had been admitted to Manipal Hospital after being tested COVID positive, has recovered and discharged from the hospital.

Though Yediyurappa may have to take precautions and even self quarantine himself after the recovery, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to participate in the Independence Day celebrations and unfurl the national tricolour.

Traditionally, it is the chief minister who inspects the Independence Day parade, unfurls the national flag and addresses the gathering. The state Governor Vajubhai Vala hosts a high tea for the ministers and senior officials at Raj Bhavan. It is doubtful if the chief minister will be attending both functions.
