Mangalore, Mar 16: Dr. U T Ifthikar Fareed, professor in Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy in the city, has been nominated as a member of the Academic Council of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore.
Dr Iftikar, MPT and PhD, has been actively involved with academic activities in the field of physiotherapy as also several other fields.
He is also the serving as president of U T Fareed Foundation, member of the Board of Studies, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore, dean, Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust Colleges, convener, Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Karnataka branch, and also the president of Sports and Fitness Training of India.
He has been nominated as a member of the Academic Council of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, which comprises ten eminent personalities from various medical and paramedical professions affiliated to the University.
Dr Iftikar is the son of the late U T Fareed, who had served as an MLA of Ullal assembly constituency, and the brother of U T Khader, present MLA of Mangalore constituency.
