New Delhi, Aug 6: Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a portrait showing him holding the hand of a young Ram walking towards a temple, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor posted a Hindi quatrain.
The tweet in Hindi if translated reads, “Neither have you learnt love, nor have you learnt sacrifice; Neither have you learnt compassion, nor have you learnt devotion; You are happy by showing yourself bigger than Ram; Which part of the Sri Ram Charita Manas have you learnt?”
The Congress MP had responded to a tweet by BJP’s Karnataka leader Shobha Karandlaje who had shared the image.

Responding to the tweet, MP Shobha tweeted, “This is what happens when people who have no idea of Indian values, ethos and culture start using a momentous occasion to reduce themselves to a troll.
“We pray to Ram Lalla, the child form of Bhagwan Ram, at Ayodhya. May be you can spend some time educating yourself,” she said in the tweet.
“In fact, Ram Lalla is very happy to take his bhakt @narendramodi to the glorious temple, being built at Ayodhya. Ram Lalla waited for this momentous occasion from centuries as country's centuries old political party was against it,” she said in another tweet.
It may be recalled, Modi on Wednesday performed the bhoomi pujan of the proposed temple in Ayodhya, bringing to fruition the BJP’s ‘mandir’ movement that defined its politics for three decades and took it to the heights of power. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were among those who attended the event at the site where a large number of devout Hindus believe Lord Ram was born.
