Bengaluru, Aug 6: Central public sector undertaking HAL has donated two ambulances to Bowring & Lady Curzon Medical College & Research Institute (BLCMC&RI) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme in Bengaluru on Thursday.
The specialized ambulances can be used for transporting patients who require medical monitoring while in transit and non-invasive airway management, said R Madhavan, CMD, HAL.
The ambulances are equipped with facilities like air conditioning, basic life support system, analog oxygen delivery system, auto loader stretcher trolley with floor mounting mechanism, explained Alok Verma, director HR.
Under BLCMC&RI there are three major government hospitals - Bowring & Lady Curzon Hospital, HSIS Gausia Hospital and BBMP Super Specialty Hospital. These are presently converted as COVID hospitals for emergency treatment.
The handing-over programme was held in the presence of Dr K Sudhakar, minister for Medical Education, Rajender Kumar Kataria, secretary, Agriculture Department and in-charge of COVID Care Centres in Bengaluru, top HAL and Government officials.
HAL had created and handed over the COVID-19 Care Centre (CCC) to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) last month. The facility has 160 beds with other supporting infrastructure.
