Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 3: Dakshina Kannada on Monday August 3 recorded 153 new cases and seven deaths. Meanwhile, Udupi reported 126 fresh cases.
As per the district health bulletin, 6,168 are tested positive till date. Out of these, 3,138 cases are currently active. As many as 2,854 persons have recovered and been discharged, and 176 deaths have occurred so far, including seven from Mangaluru, on Monday.
As many as 124 patients were discharged on Monday from Wenlock as well as private hospitals.
Among the 153 new cases, 119 are from Mangaluru, 11 from Bantwal, six from Beltangady, four from Puttur, one from Sullia, and 12 from other districts.
Udupi
As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, a total of 4,875 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, and an equal number have completed 14 days of quarantine. As many as 1,301 persons are currently in home quarantine.
A total of 310 people are in isolation wards, including 39 fresh admissions on Monday. Among the new admissions, eight are COVID suspects, 14 have SARI and 17 have influenza-like illness.
As many as 1,701 people, including 54 on Monday, have been discharged from isolation wards so far.
A total of 34,500 samples have been collected so far, including 1,122 on Monday, out of which 966 are COVID suspects and 17 are COVID contacts. Out of the total samples, 29,174 have turned out to be negative, including 1,086 on Monday, and 526 reports are awaited.
As many as 4,800 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 126 on Monday. As many as 2,812 patients have been discharged so far, and 1,952 cases are currently active. As per district bulletin, 36 deaths have occurred so far. One positive case has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada. As many as 116 were discharged on Monday.
The 126 tested positive on Monday include 58 from Udupi, 34 from Kundapur, 28 from Karkala, and six from other districts. As many as 1,116 are under home isolation. As many as 27 have ILI symptoms and four have SARI symptoms.
