Kundapur, Aug 3: There are new guests at Kody sea walk area created by the construction of Gangolli-Kody breakwater. These guests have been providing a lot of entertainment to people who visit the sea walk area for refreshing themselves. These guests happen to be dolphins, which are normally found in the deep sea.

Dolphins, which are very rare in this area, have been coming near the Kody-Gangolli seashore since the last few days. People who come to the beach for a walk have watched with glee as dolphins leapt high into the air. It is said that five to six dolphins are in this area. People fill their minds and eyes with the playful dolphins jumping in the air, wobbling in water and playing between themselves. Of late, people have started to visit the beach and wait for the dolphins to arrive. There have also been some enthusiasts who have travelled some distance in the sea by boats to look for the dolphins. The fishermen here, however, are used to seeing the dolphins at sea.

Dolphins live in the deep sea, around 12 nautical miles away from Gangolli. They would perhaps have come here searching for food. They might have found the food they were seeking here. Therefore they would have settled around this place, it is said. At the same time, the sea now is comparatively calm and because of coronavirus, mechanized boats have not been roaming around. Aqua creatures have been moving around freely. Therefore, dolphins and other sea creatures which normally live in the deep pockets of the sea are reaching near the seashore.

Dolphins, after providing the people on the beach a glimpse of their playfulness, suddenly disappear. Recently, Javed from Mavinakatte captured some photos of a dolphin. Because of dolphins, there has been an increase in the number of people visiting the sea walk in the recent past.

We just need to clean up the trash that has been accumulating around the shores, so that these creatures don't end up eating them mistaking for food.
