Moodbidri, Mar 12: “The talent of children should be promoted by providing ideal opportunities. It’s ill-conceived that children go astray because of movies”, opined Chandrahas Shetty, president, Kodialbail Lions Club, Mangalore.
He was speaking during the valedictory ceremony of the three-day 6th Karnataka Mini Film Festival at Navami Theater here on Thursday March 11.
Harish Adoor delivered the keynote address on the importance of organizing such an event.
B Ravindra Rai, president, Karnataka Computer Academy, Mangalore, in his introductory address, said that mini movies and documentaries give a chance to producers to innovate and helps children realize new ideas.
BJP district vice-president Jagdish Adikari, and Mangalore APMC president Krishnaraj Hegde were the chief guests on the occasion.
Harish Adoor presented ‘Navodita Director’s Award’ to Borgalgudde Manjunath.
Manjunath, acknowledging the honour said that a mini film fest gives them an opportunity to screen their films and improve on the concept and story.
Prakash Kabettu was presented with the ‘Navodita Producer’s Award’ for his Kannada mini film ‘Artha.’
Taluk Journalists’ Association president Premashree welcomed the gathering. Alva’s College student Sumana proposed the vote of thanks.
Five mini movies were screened including ‘Dhwani’ on the occasion.
