Udupi, Aug 1: Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math and member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said that the Rama Mandir at Ayodhya was a dream of the entire Hindu society and called upon each one to celebrate the foundation stone laying ceremony of the grand temple as a feast on August 5.
"The worship of Lord Ram is to be continued forever. Despite the COVID-19 situation, we are privileged to witness this historical day and people can watch live screening at their homes,” he said.
He was speaking to mediapersons at Neelavar Goshala, here on Saturday August 1. He further said, “People should chant Sri Rama manthra at least 108 times every day. Through this, all devotees invite Lord Ram. There should be recitation of Parayana and Bhajans and devotees should chant his name. Let us all take part in this celebration."
The foundation stone laying ceremony is scheduled to be held between 11.30 am to 12.30 pm on August 5.
On the same day, one lac Tulsi leaves will be offered to Lord Sri Rama-Krishna-Vittala at Neelavara Goshala. For this pooja, devotees can offer Tulsi leaves before the afternoon of August 4 to Pejawar Math Udupi or Neelavara Goshala. There would be Navagraha Yaga and Lord Mukhyaprana Yaga, bhajans, and parayana on the same day.
"I believe that there is intimate bonding between Udupi in Karnataka and Ayodhya. Senior seer late Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji led the movement till the end," Swamiji said.
Sunil K R said that as it would be a historical day for all the people of the Hindu society. He invited everyone to celebrate the day by decorating their houses, hosting Bhagadvaja on the roof of their homes, and lighting oil lamps in front of houses for Lord Sri Ram. Keeping in mind the current scenario, he encouraged to conduct Bhajans in groups by maintaining social distancing.
Pejawar Swamiji will not be taking part in foundation stone laying programme. He has been practicing Chathurmasa Vrutha at Neelavar Shala since many days. According to shastras, in this Chaturmasa period, a seer should not leave place or Math till the period is completed. But Swamiji told that he would celebrate the day by performing rituals or poojas at the Goshala.
P Vishnumurthy Acharya, district president, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Dinesh Mendon, district secretary, Poornima Suresh Nayak of Mathru Shakti Mandali, and Surendra Koteshwar of Bajrang Dal, were present.
