Bengaluru, Jul 31: Legal notice has been served to the former chief minister and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah and KPCC president D K Shivakumar, who earlier accused ruling BJP state government of Rs 2,000 crore scam in the purchase of coronavirus-related medical equipment.
BJP government had already informed that it will take action against the Congress leaders, who had accused the ruling BJP government at a press conference of scam in the purchase of medical equipment related to coronavirus treatment. Accordingly, notice has been now served on the two prominent leaders of state Congress.
The BJP government has questioned both the leaders as to how they could have accused the ruling BJP government of Rs 2,000 crore scam while they did not have anything to support their claim.
The Congress leaders had alleged that scam has taken place in four departments of the government to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore. In addition, the opposition had also alleged that the BJP-led state government has not responded to their request of providing accounts of the purchase.
The ruling BJP government has asked the Congress leaders to provide proof for their allegation or take back their accusation by apologising unconditionally.
