Panaji, Jul 30: Vice president of Goa Forward Party Durgadas Kamat has alleged that the Goa government is running a quarantine gate scam in the state. While addressing the media, Kamat said, "When seafarers and chartered flights started coming into the state, Goa government saw it as a golden opportunity to feed on the misery of the stranded Goans like vultures."

He said that the returnees are forced to stay in hotels charging them triple the price as compared to normal accommodation. Kamat claimed to possess all the documents to justify his allegations on the quarantine scam. "This is happening with the blessings from the top," he said.

He said that the south collectorate office is running a cartel and demanded the state government to conduct an enquiry on the matter. He has threatened to file a petition before the Lokayukta.
