    Bhandarkarmaam,
I know it first hand as we are running a family restaurant where business abruptly came down by 30-40% after demo & GST and became unviable so also all different businesses! You can ask any businessman & find for yourself! A fact is a fact, just by refuting it at the cost of your idealogies is utter foolishness! Regarding black money, can you tell how much came back?
Research & see how much GST is charged on Corona protocol equipment like PPEs to masks & gloves; 12-18%; imagine here too they are looting the common man!
Fuel prices are hitting new lows in international markets & here it is going on increasing every 2 days, diesel hit all time high last week! Don't they know that fuel price hike leads to hyper inflation, which will be another nail in the coffin of the already tormented common man! PM CARES fund out of RTI purview, why??
Now, without thinking they are having a trade face off with China! Do you think it will have much effect on them? Nope, we will be the losers mostly the poor! They should understand that we will require 10 years to come to their consistency & pricing! This will be only possible if we cleanse our entire system, which will never happen as the roots of corruption, nepotism, redtape have gone far too deep!

I hope you personally get the ground level situation & open up your horse blinders, think rationally & write without bias, that is the hallmark of a gentleman who speaks the truth keeping aside all other things!
Lastly the present Corona handling operation was totally botched up!

Having Sunday Sunday lockdown & night curfew, any sense?

I must mention here my posts are based on facts & figures & not politically inclined!

The fall in consumption will have a cascading effect on the economy!
Once the 3-month loan moratorium ends lenders will start hounding the debtors, most of whom will not be able to pay & default leading to dangerous consequences due to loss of jobs, paycuts, decimation of MSMEs including restaurants! In Mumbai many high end restaurants generating revenue of up to 1 crore/month have closed down permanently due to heavy losses! Also many wine shop owners are in a state of flux! To restart a restaurant is like starting from scratch! With such high rentals & staff salaries & overheads, hardly 20% footfalls, fear of another CORONA wave, it would be anybody's guess how many would want to pump in more money by taking loans??
Most informal sector cos have not paid or slashed salaries!
The catastrophic situation in the gulf too will add to the burden due to cutting down of foreign remittances, & lower discretionary spending due to job losses! This will affect the realty demand in a big way as no common man will ever think of investing his savings in realty, which was entirely run on speculation!
BTW, before CORONA hit, businesses were already facing a 30-40% cut due to demo and GST!!
    Fingers crossed!!

    Bro,
A fear psychosis has been created by media & vested interests & many people have become paranoid; the moment they hear Corona positive they are half dead!

In this case job insecurity along with Corona phobia may have led to the suicide!

    Tragic...

In the chain of economic activity there are Manufacturers, Suppliers, Retailers, Service Providers, Consumers et cetera..... and some of the links in this chain may be able to bear the impact of the economic crisis, whereas some others may not be able to..... But if those who have the ability to bear the impact are not showing the willingness to bear the impact, the entire country will go down the doldrums and no economic package would be able to revive the economy unless we do our bit to the society.

(For eg. In our apartment, the janitor and the housekeeper could not come for work during the lock-down period and Association did not make their salary payments. But we impressed upon the Association the need to make the payments because, if we don’t make the payment, probably these people will default on payment of their monthly outstanding with the grocery shop, who in turn will delay / default in payment to the wholesaler and in turn to the manufacturer who due to poor cash flow would be forced to cut the staff strength / salary. Also the shop owner in the apartment premises could pay salary to his staff, because we have forgone the rent)

No doubt, Chaiwala has been a big failure in Covid management, but no Modi or even Manmohan alone can overcome this kind of crisis, unless we all do our bit as citizens or humanE beings. So before blaming for political reasons, please introspect are we doing our bit for the fellow living beings. Did not mean to say that you contribute to PM Cares or CM Cares, but you will find many people around you needing help and assistance, but only if you see with a compassionate heart. Let us take these tragic deaths as a collective failure of society including us rather than blaming others.

    Bro,
Not all people can afford the generosity shown by your residential society due to myriad reasons, but the overall economic situation is of gloom & doom!

Just imagine if flourishing restaurants are closing down in a city like Mumbai what you can talk about mangalore, whose economy is mostly thriving on foreign remittances which too will get squeezed in the near future as people will be wary of spending & investing carelessly!

    Dear Rudolf

In the entire chain of economic activity, there would be someone who can afford to bear the impact and those who can AFFORD to bear it should show the willingness to bear it, that is what I clearly said

    RIP
Along with extreme paranoia caused by CORONA, joblessness, bankruptcy, & inability to pay back loans will lead to a lot of such incidents, which is a big socioeconomic effect of CORONA conundrum & the economic damage alteady caused by DEMO and GST!!

    Bhandarkmaam,
Every time writing comedial stuff in a sloppy manner doesn't suit anyone!
If you have any views on the subject, put it as a clear straightforward message, atleast in a crisis situation like this! Irrespective of any news your comments are totally biased on one side!
It appears that your white matter has been thoroughly washed that your thinking looks fanatic with a perennial hate towards some people & total loss of rationality!
Please take this in the right spirit! No offences meant!

You too Rudolf baab, take in the right spirit.
I too find it amusing, comical for eveything to be thrust on GST, Demonetization etc.
My analysis of course might be in a satirical way but then it is the truth. The opposition seems to be a pathetic option now.
All your thrust, energy seem to point that you in no way will reconcile to a new regime. Less talked about the alternative the better.
Some seem to blame even the pandemic on the Government. I say ' Not fair'... that's all.

Jossey S.Mumbai, why should we blame everything on corona or this and that, when one is foolish enough to kill daughter, and wife.?He must have gone out of mind to do this.otherwise he must have not done .A man must defend his family ,care ,but not kill out of fear getting corona.May be wife was pregnent as her BP was low.child got fever which in monsoon common is.still killing?something was wrong here.May their souls rest in peace.heartfelt sympathy to their family.
