Mangaluru: Physically challenged teen Sharath dies due to ill health

Daijiworld Media Network- Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, Jul 22: Sharath (17), the physically challenged boy, who was found abounded in a house near Padil, Kannur with his ill grandmother and later shifted to Sion Ashram, Beltangady, died due to illness on Tuesday, July 21.

Daijiworld carried a detailed article on Monamma and her grandson Sharath last month. The elderly woman and her physically challenged grandson were living in the outskirts of the city. The duo, forgotten and ignored, led a life of penury.

Sharath (17), physically challenged by birth, was vocally impaired and could not stand on his own. When Sharath’s grandmother fell ill last month and admitted to a hospital, he was left alone and orphaned.

After consistent efforts from Archana, station manager, Indigo Airlines, Mangaluru, through Daijiworld and other ways, the district administration responded quickly and took initiative to treat and take care of Sharath. He was admitted to Wenlock hospital later. Soon after he was discharged, he was shifted to Sion Ashram, Beltangady.

On Tuesday in the afternoon, he breathed his last.

    Rest in peace Sharath,
I just want to share my opinion here below.
Daiji is front runner in rescuing these kind of cases many times which we read always in DW.
Now my request is how we all can make a difference in the abandon cases like parents without children and Children without Parents?
If Daiji permits can't we generate a separate fund raising campaign through DW and make difference so that in future people will not suffer in this kind of cases.
I am ready to share my contribution any time.
    Let's do it.

We all are responsible. Didn't follow previous two articles but here I put my words out. It's really bad. No matter what such kind shouldn't never repeat. I am sorry.

Pretty much in this technology world, we forget being kind to our neighbours. It's true life is a race and we like rats just run. They say humans were created to take care of this mother Earth. But today we just brag and cry telling we don't have anything.

Wish will never miss this again. I feel sorry. And as an individual even I m responsible for this. Sometimes we see this our heart tells of helping or supporting this but next moment our own problems stop ourselves. but if someone had helped them before that grandma getting ill, something would have worked out. He is God's child. Wish he attain that happiness in Heaven .

    Dear Sir,

It's best if we practice the kindness in private, especially in India. Because here one can't even run a NGO without being subjected to discrimination. Recent episode with city's NGOs opposing to a communication received from government authorities proves my statement. The situation is like a Kannada proverd 'Thaanagi hadaa, haduvavanige bida'

Therefore, it's the best that we restrict our kindness to the parameters of our own community. We will at least be saved from risking our own safety.

Nevertheless, I too feel sorry for the way Shatath suffered and died. May his grieving grandmother find a relief that she is not leaving behind her grandson to continue suffering alone.

    RIP Sharath.

    Desbhakt
In India lot of anti social activities r going on under the banner of NGO. And many times it has been proved by investigation by the officials /Deptmts
If the NGO is genuine they should follow all the rules framed under the Law of the land and subject to submission of their accounts /activities and details of funds recvd and how the amount has been utilised.
Don't blame the Govt. If u r ready to help you can always do in public or private and it is left to you

Looks like you are very concerned about illegal activity by NGO's. Have you raised your voice against corrupt politicians, police, government officials ? Are they not doing illegal activities ?
