Mangalore, Mar 1: The sixth graduation day of K S Hegde Medical Academy was held at the college premises, Deralakatte here on Sunday February 28.
In all 105 MBBS graduates and nine postgraduates received their degrees on the occasion.
Professor Sandeep Sancheti, director, NITK, Surathkal was the chief guest. He stressed the medical world to keep abreast with developments in biomedical engineering.
Dr Arunachalam Kumar, dean, KSHEMA welcomed the gathering. Dr Shantharam Shetty, vice-chancellor, Nitte University, delivered the keynote address.
N Vinay Hegde, chancellor of Nitte University and president of Nitte Educational Trust, advised the students to always remain grateful to their parents and teachers. Dr Sathish Bhandary, vice dean, KSHEMA, read out the names of graduating students and Dr K Jayaprakash Shetty, registrar, announced the list of winners of academic awards.
Dr Vijaya Shenoy, HOD, Pediatrics, administered the Hippocratic Oath to the new graduates. Dr Y Naveen spoke on behalf of the outgoing batch and Dr Sampath Kumar, medical superintendent of the K S Hegde Hospital proposed the vote of thanks.
