Bengaluru, Jul 13: For the first time after assuming charge as the president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, D K Shivakumar issued a warning to those who are speaking against the party leadership and its decisions.

There has been unrest behind the scenes in the party about the appointment of office bearers in the party. Shivakumar has told them in no uncertain terms that there is no need for anyone in the party to discuss the issue of appointing office bearers till the corona situation improves.

Leaders livid

It has been several months since the terms of various office bearers at the state and block level came to an end. No new appointments have been made in their places. Therefore, some leaders have openly criticised Shivakumar on this issue. Shivakumar has now taken a stand that there are confusions and different noises relating to the issue and therefore this issue need not be discussed till the corona situation improves. He also has warned that disciplinary action would be launched against people issuing contradictory statements.

He advised the leaders to stop fighting for power at a time when the people are facing extreme hardships. He said that issuing statements and becoming greedy for power will make people lose trust in the party. Therefore he said he will not allow dissidence to flourish. He said that no changes in the office bearers would be made without bringing the m to the notice of the party's national president.

He warned that people issuing confusing statements, behaving in a way that results in awkward position for the party, those who express dissidence in writing or issue statements to the media or make criticism and comments in social media will face disciplinary action. He said that this is the time for the partymen to work to mitigate hardships of common people.
