Udupi: ASHA workers demand for wage security, medical compensation

Udupi, Jul 10: The members of Karnataka State Association of ASHA workers from different PHC on Friday, July 10 handed over a memorandum copy to the district health department of Udupi.

Bharathi of Mudabettu PHC, district president said, "As we are health warriors, we do not have any wage security. Though we put hard work, we do not get salary on time. The government should provide us with protection kits to fight against COVID-19. The government should provide compensation to corona-infected ASHA workers and bear the medical expenses. These are our major demands."



Vandana Barkuru PHC, Kalpana Kemmannu PHC, Bindu Saibrakatte PHC, Chandrakala Padubidri PHC, Asha G Naik Hirebettu PHC, Shobha Bhandhary Ajekar PHC, Hima urban area, Navya Prabhu Manipura PHC, Sujatha Malpe, Suhasini Kulal and Nagrathna were present.
