Mangaluru, Jul 10: MLA U T Khader gave details of the reason for increase of coronavirus infections in Ullal of the city and also the measures taken to curb the same.
Khader said, "Mostly the coronavirus infection has spread from the first and second contact of the deceased person in Ullal. In most of the random tests that were carried out on house members of both first and second contact, the reports have turned positive.
"Most of the cases that have reported in Ullal were found during the random testing that was conducted by the health authorities. Nearly 50% of Ullal area is covered in the random test. A meeting to this effect is held with the higher officials on the evening of Thursday, July 9.
"We have also resorted to forming youth groups in every ward of Ullal city municipality. Interested people can contact concerned officers. Such youths will be given identity cards. In the coming days, survey work will be held of every house. We are also planning to buy ambulance through generous donors,” he said.
