Bengaluru: CJ proposes Rs 1 lac fine on unwanted emails

Bengaluru, Jul 10: The high court has been functioning under hard and challenging times because of the prevailing coronavirus situation. Chief Justice A S Oka of the state high court has expressed displeasure at the advocates and clients for sending repeated irresponsible emails seeking early hearing of their cases.

He also said that those who continue to send emails repeatedly even after they are informed that emergency hearing is not needed in their case, will have to be fined Rs 1 lac and their petitions will be listed for hearing. This fine will have to be remitted to COVID-19 Relief Fund in such cases, he warned.
