Bengaluru, Jul 9: The coronavirus scare has made the citizens of the capital so inhuman that a dead body was left on the middle of the road unattended on the morning of Thursday, July 8.
This inhumane act was seen at Ambedkar grounds near Basaveshwaranagar at around 6 am on Thursday. Morning walkers noticed the body of a person lying on the road and informed the Magadi police. Though the police reported to the spot immediately, ambulance did not arrive at the spot.
It is said that there was no response from the hospitals in spite of repeated calls from the police and locals.
The locals who saw the dead body first also got scared as they did not know the reason for the death of the person. They suspected that the person might have died of coronavirus. At last two ambulances arrived after four hours of the dead body lying on the road.
Magadi road police shifted his body to the mortuary of Victoria hospital. It is learnt that the name of the deceased is Paramesh. It is also suspected that he might have died due to excessive alcohol consumption. Only after his Covid-19 report arrives, the exact cause for his death can be assessed. On the whole, a situation is created in the city, wherein citizens are ignoring even people lying dead on the road due to coronavirus scare.
