Udupi, Feb 24: The St Mary’s Junior College, Shirva held a procession on Wednesday, February 24 following the tragic death of a 15-year old Sambrina on Tuesday February 23.
As many as 450 students of the institution, staff as well as the locals took part in the procession. Prayer service and tribute was offered to Sambrina in the assembly held prior to the procession.
Fr Richard Coelho from Our Lady of Health Church, principal Felix Andrade, vice-president of the institution Norbert Machado, secretary Melwyn Aranha, managing committee members Ronald Menezes and Wilson D’Souza, Udupi zilla panchayat president Gladys Almeida and former MLA Vasant Salian among others were present.
The school administration has submitted a memorandum to Kaup circle inspector Cheluvaraj requesting to arrest and take stern action against the one who is responsible for Sambrina’s death. The school authorities have also complained against the harsh driving of vehicles in Shirva area in the memorandum.
