Mangaluru: Special flight under Vande Bharat mission reaches city

Mangaluru, Jul 9: A special Air India Express flight organised under the fourth phase of the ambitious 'Vande Bharat Mission' of the union government to bring back NRIs stranded in other countries, reached the airport here from Sharjah on Wednesday July 8.

The flight brought 179 passengers and touched down at 6.55 pm. Many of the passengers were pregnant women, people suffering from ailments and those who lost their jobs. All the passengers were prescribed seven days institutional quarantine.

Two more flights from Bahrain and Muscat are scheduled to land here on July 12. Flights from Muscat will reach the city on July 22 and 23.
